Topsites Crashed
Wednesday, July 28, 2004 @ 5:19 PM EDT
Last night I crashed the PokeDream Topsites in an attempt to upgrade it after an error code appeared. In other words, the old topsites list is gone. However, I have set up a new topsites, and can still be accessed through the old address at http://topsites.pokedream.com. This "switch of topsites" is a problem for current members (over 40 now), as they must change their button codes. If you have joined the topsites before, please sign up again. I apologize for my mistake.

That's the bad news. Here's the good news: I have modified several pages that contain broken links, and they have all been fixed! In other words, Pokemon Dream should currently be error-free, except for the News Archive. Well, it's back to work on Operation "Cut The Bytes".

Operation "Cut The Bytes"
Monday, July 26, 2004 @ 3:34 PM EDT
What exactly is Operation "Cut The Bytes"? Well, it's part of an ongoing project to cut down the size of various files on PD to reduce loading time and save bandwidth. I have already reduced the total size of the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald Walkthrough by nearly 40%! I will continue to work...

Also, I have added Emerald Screenshots for everyone to enjoy.

Updates and Record Breaking Stats
Saturday, July 24, 2004 @ 5:26 PM EDT
Thanks to a person by the name of Tioaz, Pokemon Dream now has a Egg Group/Move List! It's a huge document loaded with information, so check it out now.

Also, I want everyone to know that Pokemon Dream has again broke its own records. For the past few days, PD has been getting over 3,300 unique visitors. Due to that, we're starting to eat up more and more bandwidth. Thus, I significantly reduced the file sizes of various images (which took hours), so now the site will not only load faster than ever, but will also be more bandwidth-efficient. I thank all the fans for supporting this site!

New Layout
Monday, July 19, 2004 @ 6:27 PM EDT
Surprised? This is the new layout that I was talking about. It isn't the Dragon layout I had planned though. The announcement of Pokemon Emerald inspired me to design a Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald layout. As you can see, the images, colors, and even the format has changed from before. Also, a whole bunch of new mini icons have been added here and there. Don't worry if you have a slow connection; everything will still load at the same rate as before, maybe even faster. This is the first layout I have made using my new software. I hope you all like it!

In addition to that, I've put up a new Chat Room, and also information on the newest TCG set, Pokemon EX Hidden Legends.

Along with the new layout is a new poll. The old one, What made you start liking Pokemon? had a total of over 1,000 votes. 50% voted for the Games, 26% voted for the Anime, 20% voted for the Cards, and 2% voted for the Toys. Please begin voting on the new poll now.

Artwork Needed For New Layout
Friday, July 9, 2004 @ 3:12 PM EDT
Recently, I have decided to create a new layout for Pokemon Dream. I feel that with Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks (two new programs that I installed on my computer a while ago, used for designing web sites), I can make a much better layout that loads a lot quicker.

However, I have encountered a bit of a problem. After setting up the new layout (it's a Dragon/Legendary theme), I discovered that I didn't have any Pokemon pictures to work with to go with the layout. This is where I need your help. If you are an Poke-artist and would like to help me out, please send me an e-mail at wei88_1999@lycos.com with a picture of either Dragonite, Lugia, Arcanine, Salamence, and any other Pokemon considered to be "legendary". The pictures must be colored through computer programs (meaning no colored pencils, crayons, etc.) or black-and-white.

If your picture is good enough, it will soon appear on top of every page in Pokemon Dream, and you will receive credit for it. I really need any help that I can get, so if you can draw well, draw me a Pokemon and send it to wei88_1999@lycos.com.

Pokemon Emerald
Monday, July 5, 2004 @ 3:22 PM EDT
To the left is the image of the cover of a magazine called Pokemon Wonderland. It shows a Rayquaza, and the logo of a new game, Pokemon Emerald, underneath it. We are not sure if this is a real game or not, but if it is, it will be something like Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Crystal. This issue of the magazine hasn't been released yet, and will be released on July 17th, 2004.

Thanks to Silver Lugia for the information and magazine cover.

GameBoy advance video
Monday, July 5, 2004 @ 12:01 AM EDT
It appears that boundaries are virtually non-existant when it comes to the Gameboy advance console. Released mid-june in America were the first installments of Gameboy Advance Videos. The first of this brand new video line were 2 pokémon cartridges. The pokémon catridges feature 2 episodes. Cartidge One consists of 2 firey episodes: (1.) In Playing with fire and (2.) Johto Photo Finish
Catridge Two plays: (1.) For Ho-oh the bells toll and (2.) A hot water Battle. So far the episodes released are primarily from the "Johto Journeys". There will be more on the way undoubtedly.
So basically you can enjoy your pokemon anywhere. Without the hassle of lugging to much around with you. Now to enjoy pokémon all you need to do is put the episode cartridge you want into you GBA console, turn it on and take it anywhere with you! a definent bonus if you're travelling.

Dates for release of these 2 cartridges for countries such as Australia, England etc. are unknown (i haven't seen them around). Further release dates are to be advised for any upcoming episode cartridges.

Fire Red Leaf Green Info
Saturday, July 3, 2004 @ 6:30 PM EDT
These two games are set to be released in September in the US.These 2 new games boast MANY new features. One new feature is a black and white flashback of the things you did last time you played. That could get annoying. Also,There is an Acessory on the game called Teachy TV. This teaches you the basics, and some info. The main thing is Wireless Gamplay. Using a wireless adapter, people in your range can chat, battle and trade!

Sounds so AWESOME!
